Q: What kind of benefits can I get from getting a massage?
A: There are dozens of physical, emotional, and metabolic benefits of massage. Most notably, regular therapeutic massage:
=Increases blood circulation and lymph flow which are important for the healing process
=Relieves mental stress and muscle tension, which in turn helps you handle the rigors of daily life
=For the more athletic, massage is an important part of muscle conditioning, flexibility, and recovery
In the end, massage just simply feels great no matter who you are or what you do! Once you feel the unique style and personal attention I can provide, you'll wonder why you waited!

I'm always up for new questions...

Q: I have never had a professional massage. What is it like?
A: Touch is a basic need. Massage is so therapeutic, it is a wonder why so many people have never experienced it. I believe most of our society is touch deprived. Massage, with its many styles and techniques, is a great way to allow people to safely open up and relax. Imagine lying comfortably, with soft music playing, candles burning in a dim room, and all distractions of the day are temporarily put on hold. Your therapist takes your body on a journey of the senses. Your skin, muscles, and joints all get the attention they need leaving you feeling relaxed, stretched, and good about yourself. And that was just the beginning. Regular massage teaches you how to listen to your body better. It also trains your body to stay healthy longer by promoting proper body functions. It's all good!

Q: I feel like I need to lose a lot of fat. Can't I just limit my calories instead of working out? I hate to sweat.
A: First of all, you need a proper body fat percentage test to determine exactly how much excess fat you really have. Too many people claim they have tons of weight to lose when in fact they have less than they think. You must have realistic goals. After that, your exercise program needs to address your current abilities, limits, and favorite activities. If you do have a lot of weight to lose, and you want to get it off and keep it off, you need to work hard. Sweat is part of the deal. Prepare for it. Calorie counting is not always necessary. But portion control is a must. Most people eat whatever, whenever they want. If you have weight to lose, control is what you need to learn.
